Link to a FootPrints Knowledge Base or Knowledge-Paks
This option is available under Administration
| Project | Knowledge Base | External Knowledge Bases from the
FootPrints Toolbar.
To add a link to the FootPrints or RightAnswers Knowledge
Bases:
- Name—Give a name
to the Knowledge Base. This name is displayed to users, e.g., "Help
Desk Knowledge Base".
- URL—In the URL
box, enter the special syntax for the FootPrints
Knowledge Bases:
- To point to the Public
Knowledge Base for the current Project, enter:
FOOTPRINTS
No additional syntax is needed, such as a URL
or the %s
variable.
- To point to the Internal
Knowledge Base for the current Project, enter:
FOOTPRINTSINTERNAL
- To point to the combined
Public and Internal Knowledge Bases for the current Project, enter:
FOOTPRINTSALLKB
- To point to the Public
Knowledge Base for a different Project, enter:
FOOTPRINTS-projID
where projID
is the ID number of that Project. This
can be obtained by selecting Administration
| System | Projects | List All Projects. To
link to the Public Knowledge Base for the Bug Tracking Project, for example,
which has an ID of 3,
you would enter:
FOOTPRINTS-3
- To point to the Internal
Knowledge Base for a different Project, enter:
FOOTPRINTSINTERNAL-projID
Using the same method as described in the previous
step.
- To point to the combined
Public and Internal Knowledge Bases for a different Project, enter:
FOOTPRINTSALLKB-projID
- To point to Knowledge-Paks
Online, enter:
RIGHTANSWERS
The Knowledge-Paks Online does not appear as a search option
unless Knowledge-Paks Online is enabled for this Project. To
use Knowledge-Paks Online, you must purchase the add-on module from Numara Software.
- Language—Select the
language for the new Knowledge Base (defaults to the system default).
This allows you link to different Knowledge Bases for different languages.
- Click the Add
Knowledge Base button.
- The new Knowledge
Base is not added to FootPrints
until you enter your password and click
GO
at the bottom of the page.
