Field Mapping in Salesforce.com

Footprints CRM Bridge can work with different field types in contact records in Salesforce.com, but there are some considerations when using something other than a character field:

• Character fields—Most built-in fields in Salesforce.com are character fields, which work well with the Footprints CRM Bridge, both in displaying the field value and searching the field.
• Integer and float fields—Custom integer and float fields in Salesforce.com map correctly for both displaying and searching.  You must be careful that the Footprints field type matches the field type in Salesforce.com.
• Date fields—Date fields should be created as character fields in Footprints.  When this is done, both display and search of these fields work correctly.

• Drop-down fields—Drop-down fields in the Salesforce.com contact list should be mapped to the equivalent drop-down field in Footprints, with the same drop-down choices.

Note

When a field is created in Footprints for use by the CRM bridge, that field is available subsequently if the Project is converted to using the Footprints Address Book.
